Services

At Melbourne Holistic Health Group we offer a range of services in order to provide a holistic approach to health care. We have a comprehensive range of Western and Chinese herbs in the form of dried herbs, liquid extracts, tablets and powders. Where possible, we use companies who use contract manufacturers based in Australia or whose meticulous standards, in terms of accessing raw products, are in line with our own philosophy. For example, many of our Western herbal tablets are made by Australian companies and we seek to visit manufacturing sites to evaluate quality of product. These products are subjected to extremely lofty standards of evaluation in terms of efficacy and quality and are thus favored by many of our practitioners. Additionally, we have recently added a fresh range of herbal extracts to our dispensary that are made in Fresh Zealand, known as OptimalRx. This company uses many locally grown and organic herbs, and their fastidious standards are in line with our own. We source our supplements from a limited range of companies who we believe to consistently supply us with best quality product. When we need a new item in the dispensary, our practice manager spends a lot of time and effort finding the best quality product from the maximum steadfast company. There are many companies Australia wide providing fish oils to the market. We only use companies who evaluate the quality of their product using what is known as the Swedish standard (a much more stringent method of evaluation to that impaired for maximum OTC fish oils). Thus we can be reassured that our patients are given the best fish oils we can obtain. Attaining and maintaining well weight. We treat a wide range of medical disorders and practice preventative medicine at all ages and through all life stages. MHHG is principally a naturopathy and herbal medicine clinic (we prescribe both Chinese Western herbs) focusing on the attainment of optimal health through good diet, lifestyle herbal interventions. Practitioners at MHHG have developed a reputation for expertise in the management of gynecological and obstetric disorders. We have a collaborative approach and frequently labor with practitioners from other medical disciplines to optimism treatment outcomes for our patients. The natural therapists meet weekly for two hours of professional development, case discussion and to establish treatment protocols. We also invite speakers to give to the practitioners and staff in the clinic. Using the information gathered during our professional development sessions, we have extensively revised the currently available textbook, Women, Hormones and the Menstrual Cycle’ to better reflect the gynecological treatment protocols of the clinic, and also to bear practitioners with up to date information in those areas of women’s health where there is a lack of specific information. In particular, we have written new sections on cardiovascular disease in women since, although this condition affects more women than men, it is hard for spontaneous therapists to source brief information on gender specific treatments for cardiovascular disease. We have also added a important section on breast and gynecological cancers.
